About us

Our mission is to deliver joy in every shop, through unbeatable choice, unrivalled service and reassuringly good value.

We’re Ocado Retail, a market-leading, joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S and the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket . Not only is Ocado.com the only place to shop a full range of M&S food online, it’s also the home to the widest online supermarket range in the UK and champion of small, independent brands. We’re also the brains behind , our same-day grocery delivery service.

About the team and the role

The CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) Lead will be responsible for driving onsite experience and owning, from development to execution the overall CRO strategy and experimentation roadmap; driving innovative market leading opportunities, as well as driving forward front end development changes, specifically focusing on conversion.

As part of the role you will be required to lead through your team, and engage a wide variety of different stakeholders to ensure we are able to deliver on our overall strategic ambitions and deliver smarter growth.

What you’ll do

  • You will be responsible for owning, executing and managing the ongoing optimisation of all parts of the product, considering how this is aligned and aims to deliver to the commercial / strategic business goals.
  • With a focus on our business growth, you will be delivering improved conversion of traffic by channel and customer segmentation along with increased average order value.
  • Optimise and execute any new propositions to maximise customer experience, enhance and focus on developing our brand online, ensuring the CRO strategy is set to ensure we achieve business goals and ambitions.
  • Use customer data and digital insight to build compelling testing plans and innovative new activity to drive market share growth, ensuring these fall into the overall CRO strategy and your team is set to be able to deliver.
  • Engage and influence a wider stakeholder group to ensure collaboration and alignment of shared goals in development of testing roadmap (Ecommerce, Marketing, Design, IT Development & Support). This also includes managing third party relationships, with key testing tools.
  • Deliver a consistent personalised and segmented approach across all devices, iterating for the future, working closely with relevant optimisation agencies.
  • Develop, maintain and execute effective governance and a testing plan of all parts of the product, providing regular reports of results and capturing early competitive advantage, ensuring robust hypotheses deliver insightful results and customer journeys.
  • Provide testing insight and results to inform and recommend development decisions, driving innovation and providing inspiration for our customers through continually thinking through new ways to shop that drive conversion and sales.
  • Maximise ROI from the testing tool.
  • Drive and provide business stakeholders with consultation and options to deliver their commercial goals.
  • Manage the relationship with third party providers

Who you are

  • You will have strong experience in driving strategic ecommerce change, from developing processes, strategies and / or roadmaps, right through to execution.
  • You will also have experience in leading a team successfully - particularly in a growing, fast paced, challenger business.
  • You will have hands-on experience of driving ongoing optimisation to drive sales outcomes.
  • You will have an analytical mindset, being able to identify actionable insights from complicated data - and translating these to ensure you can inform and influence a wide range of stakeholders, with differing levels of knowledge.
  • Strong project management skills, organised, methodical and able to see projects through from start to finish.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding.
