Our client is a leading global consulting and advisory firm, and their Banking Transformation team has shown tremendous growth, evidenced by recent significant wins. As part of their Enterprise Risk service offering, this team helps clients define, implement, and optimise control frameworks.
The team also supports clients in responding to regulations around controls such as US SOX and UK Corporate Governance reform. They have extensive process mapping experience and can design and improve controls as part of process re-engineering. They work closely with other consulting teams through their Consulting business and colleagues in Technology Risk, Financial Transformation, Internal Audit, and Cyber Risk to ensure clients receive the best advice and assurance.
The job:
- Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Advisory Engagements (Sarbanes-Oxley assistance, Risk Assessments, Maturity Assessments, Internal Controls Diagnostics Reviews) for clients, including designing and developing risk assessments, SOx/ICFR frameworks, testing plans, working papers, reports, and other deliverables based on engagement requirements.
- Serve as a coach and mentor, providing on-the-job training opportunities for staff and team members.
- Work closely to develop and train offshore team members in SOx regulations and practices.
- Identify, communicate issues clearly, and share best practices with client personnel and senior management.
- Collaborate with partners and directors on practice management, including resource allocation and staff career development.
- Support the firm's thought leadership by sharing and developing best practices, papers, and new service offerings.
- Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with clients and project teams to ensure high-performance results.
- Manage risk, financials, and administrative tasks related to engagements.
Person requirements:
- Experience in evaluating design and operating effectiveness under Internal Controls Framework, ICFR assessment, and 404 experience in banking or financial services.
- Experience in assurance, controls, or corporate compliance, including consulting, auditing, or risk management, either in-house or in industry. Experience with external audits or SOx404a assurance is preferred.
- Experience auditing banking or financial processes such as credit, valuations, EIR, lending. US banking process experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of UK and US audit regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to use data effectively.
- Ability to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements across financial processes.
- Advanced knowledge of risk, controls, accounting, and IT operations, including familiarity with GAAP, SOX, COSO, and COBIT frameworks.
- Experience leading teams and managing projects, actively participating in engagements.
Desirable experience:
- ACA, CMI, FRM, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
- Previous consulting experience is advantageous.
