Job summary

Yolk Recruitment represents an established manufacturing business in Chepstow seeking a Controls Systems Engineer. You will own the site's PLC and automation, programming Siemens PLCs from scratch using TIA Portal and supporting ABB robotics systems.

The role is Monday to Friday with days-based shifts, no night work, and opportunities to contribute to machinery upgrades and safety systems. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• This role requires hands-on programming from scratch using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Experience with Beckhoff and legacy Mitsubishi PLCs is preferred.
• Strong PLC fault-finding, diagnostics and electrical control skills.

Responsibilities

• Program Siemens PLCs from scratch using TIA Portal.
• Develop, modify and improve control systems.
• Diagnose complex PLC faults across automation and electrical controls.
• Provide controls support to maintenance teams and production engineers.
• Work with Project Engineer and Production Engineering on upgrades and installations.
• Support ABB robotics systems including IRC5 and OmniCore.
