Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is assisting a world-renowned manufacturer in Peterlee to hire a Controls Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract, onsite in County Durham. The role focuses on manufacturing/diagnostics with CAN Bus diagnostics and embedded controls.

You will provide software and controls support, diagnose and resolve issues, assist with commissioning and calibration, and collaborate with production and maintenance to drive improvements using CAN Bus tools CANalyzer and

Qualifications

• Experience with CAN Bus diagnostics or embedded control systems in manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on approach.
• Background in industrial automation across machinery or heavy equipment sectors.
• Ability to work independently with production and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide controls and software support, including fault finding, diagnostics and system optimisation.
• Support commissioning, calibration, validation and testing of machine control systems.
• Utilise CAN Bus diagnostics, CANalyzer and CANape to analyse system performance.
• 12-month contract with strong likelihood of extension, fully onsite in Peterlee.
