Job summary
Sapien is seeking a Controls System Engineer to design electrical and control systems for advanced composite moulding processes. You will develop design concepts, produce drawings, and support commissioning on-site, while collaborating with global clients.
You will research new solutions, support full project lifecycles, and train client engineers. Occasional travel within the UK and abroad is expected, with a focus on delivering robust, safe automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 1 year in control systems.
- Experience with PLCs and Siemens TIA Portal preferred.
- Strong technical understanding to create practical design solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building with colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical and control systems for composite moulding processes.
- Produce drawings and specifications using appropriate software.
- Research new solutions and techniques to enhance equipment and processes.
- Support full project lifecycle from feasibility to handover.
- Provide training and technical support to client engineers and operators.
- Travel within the UK and internationally as needed.
