The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Software Engineer to design, develop, and support control systems for automated conveyor and loading solutions. Working with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000, you’ll deliver world-class systems for leading global brands. This is a varied role, balancing office-based software development and testing with on-site commissioning at customer locations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and commission Siemens PLC (S7-1200, S7-1500) and HMI solutions using TIA Portal.
  • Modify and troubleshoot ladder logic programs.
  • Perform I/O checks, loop testing, FAT/SAT testing.
  • Interface with third-party hardware and systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients.
  • Ensure system safety, quality, and compliance with international standards.

About You:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Proven experience commissioning industrial automation systems
  • Strong proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Willing and able to travel globally (approx. 50% of the time)
  • Ability to work independently, client-facing, with a solution-focused attitude.
  • Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, would be beneficial but not essential.

Working Arrangement:

  • Office location: Liverpool, Speke.
  • Office Hours: Monday–Thursday 8am–4:30pm, Friday 8am–2:30pm.
  • Hybrid working available upon agreement when not travelling.
  • Travel required: Approximately 50% internationally and domestically.
