Job summary

Cheltenham area-based Controls & Robotics Engineer sought to deliver bespoke automation, robotics and control system solutions for customers across the UK and internationally. You will take ownership from concept through commissioning, visiting customer sites across Europe and North America.

This permanent, full-time role offers £50,000–£80,000 OTE depending on experience, plus private healthcare, pension, and travel allowances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Controls & Robotics Engineering role.
• Strong PLC programming experience using Siemens and/or Allen Bradley.
• Experience programming HMIs, SCADA and industrial networks.
• Experience programming and integrating industrial robots.
• Fault-finding and commissioning in automated machinery environments.
• Experience working with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and program PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial networks from scratch.
• Develop and integrate robotic automation solutions, including industrial robots.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and controls engineers to create complete automation solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from design and build through commissioning and handover.
• Carry out installation, commissioning and customer training at sites.
• Fault-find, service and improve existing automation and robotic systems.
• Mentor and support other engineers within the team.
• Manage technical risks, customer communication and project priorities.

Looking for a role where no two projects are the same?

An innovative automation engineering business is looking for an experienced Controls & Robotics Engineer to deliver bespoke automation, robotics and control system solutions for customers across the UK and internationally.

Working on projects ranging from manufacturing and packaging machinery through to robotics, conveyor systems and vision inspection technology, this is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning whilst travelling to customer sites across Europe and North America.

The Role

Desirable

• FANUC robotics experience.
• EPLAN experience.
• Machine vision systems knowledge.
• Automation project management experience.
• Packaging, plastics processing or material handling experience.
