I'm supporting a well-established financial services organisation looking for a Controls Governance Manager to help enhance their internal control environment and support the growth of a new Controls Centre of Excellence. This role leads core controls monitoring and testing while managing a small team.

The Role

• Lead the annual controls testing plan and oversight of central and SME-led testing
• Track, report and support remediation of control issues
• Maintain and improve control libraries, standards and attestation processes
• Produce clear governance MI, insights and exception reporting
• Support continuous improvement, including digital / automation initiatives
• Line manage and develop a team of 3 analysts

• Experience in internal controls, compliance or risk governance
• Good data analysis and reporting skills
• Confident with GRC tools (e.g., MetricStream)
• Strong stakeholder communication and problem‑solving mindset
