Job summary

Hussmann's Summer Internship Program offers meaningful hands-on experience in the food retailing industry. As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will collaborate across the engineering team to support new product development and learn about how control systems are validated and released.

The twelve-week program includes an Ideation & Innovation Challenge, mentorship from senior leaders, and opportunities to tour our manufacturing facility and R&D lab, while building technical skills in CAD,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to relocate if not local.

Responsibilities

• Assist with validating software operation in electronic equipment controls.
• Learn customer needs and follow processes to develop and release the product.
• Participate in development, validation, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Prepare technical information and training materials for others.
• Use CAD and Reliability Analysis tools in project work.
• Develop detailed specifications, plans, milestones, and schedules.
• Report status to the team and network with leaders and mentors.
• Tour facilities and participate in community outreach and innovation events.
