The position requires regular travel between multiple facilities within Thames Valley. The successful candidate will be based within easy reach of these key locations and must be comfortable with frequent inter-site movement as part of their core responsibilities.
The Data Centre Global Services team is looking for exceptional individuals to join our Implementation, Controls organisation as Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS), responsible for the building automation systems within Amazon data centres. If you are passionate about the Customer Experience, think and act globally and have the ability to contribute to major new innovations in the area of building controls and automation this is the challenge you are looking for!
The ideal candidate will possess a project/construction management, mechanical, electrical or technology background that enables them to undertake the challenges of sophisticated controls platforms and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building controls and automation with the larger objectives of the business.
Key job responsibilities
Controls Engineer(CE) deploys, maintains BMS(Building Management System) & EPMS(Electrical Power Monitoring System) in AWS leased/colocation data centers. CE co-ordinates with AWS DCEO( Data Center Engineering Operations) teams to implement new builds, upgrades etc and ensures high availability and high resiliency of these control systems.
A day in the life
Controls Engineer's day may begin with deployment efforts including on-site site management works , directing Controls vendors for installation / commissioing works and is responsible for quality and on time delivery of the tasks / project. While managing service works, CE will co-ordinate with Operations teams for permits and engages Vendor or performs services confirming to the task lists.
