Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a skilled engineer to develop and improve the vehicle trajectory and motion controllers that translate the Wayve AI Driver outputs into safe, smooth vehicle motion across platforms.

You will implement production-quality, latency-sensitive C++ software, run simulations, and collaborate with teams to integrate controllers into new vehicle platforms and features.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in control theory and optimization.
• Experience tuning control or motion systems on real hardware.
• Production-quality software engineering in C++.
• Experience with latency-sensitive or real-time software.
• Ability to debug complex robotic systems across software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, tune, and validate control and trajectory-generation algorithms across vehicle platforms and operating modes.
• Maintain and evolve controls software architecture that connects AI Driver outputs to real-time vehicle actuation.
• Implement and maintain production-quality, latency-sensitive C++ software for prototype and production vehicles.
• Use simulation, closed-loop evaluation and on-road testing to characterize controller behavior and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with Wayve teams to define interfaces and enable new vehicle platforms and features.
