Job description

Mission

:

Our story starts in France in the 1980s, when we created the first ever quick-frozen part-baked baguette. Since then, Délifrance has never stopped developing bakery, patisserie and savoury products for foodservice providers, retailers and bakers. Délifrance is an equal-opportunity employer.

We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join us at our Southall site in West London. The successful candidate will be highly skilled and motivated, focused on continuous improvement and will be responsible for delivering effective first class maintenance support to the factory.

The role

• Display a clear shop floor focus – 95% time on the shop floor building relationships with production seeking issues before they arise.

• Using your dual skilled approach, ensure all reactive and proactive maintenance is completed ‘Right First Time’ (RFT), in a timely manner and according to the quality and HSE guidelines stated above.

• Mechanical skills will include full mechanical understanding of (for example) power transmission systems, product manufacturing and transport systems, as well as a full ability to assist in the in-house fabrication works (milling, welding etc).

• Electrical skills will include a full diagnostic ability in fault finding of all electrical systems up to and including PLC level, with experience of Siemens S7 preferred. A full ability to understand electrical diagrams is a necessity.

• Fault finding and programming of robotics including Kuka and Fanuc systems essential.

• If right first time is not possible, then ensure the work order activity is raised and the temporary fix handed over to the oncoming shift and engineering manager.

• Actively participate in lean initiatives including TPM.

• Show a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to improve plant performance and reliability.

• Ensure full compliance on all engineering data systems.

• Be comprehensive and able to demonstrate root cause analysis skills and a solid fault finding process on both electrical and mechanical systems.

• Ability to work on own initiative and make calculated decisions based on an analytical approach.

• Be able to work flexible hours to accommodate production and business needs.

• Positively support the training of new staff when they commence employment.

• Organize contractors, ensuring that health & safety requirements are met in full in line with projects.

Formation / Compétences :

  • Strong engineering background with a thorough technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems and equipment
  • Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience
  • Experience in:
  • Design of control & automation systems
  • Programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems
  • Commissioning, Testing and Client Support of industrial control systems
  • Involvement throughout the whole project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and documentation
  • A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
  • Experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (preferred)
  • Experience of Rockwell platforms
  • Experience of configuring & commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens)
