Job summary
Prime Appointments is seeking a Controls & Design Engineer to join an established engineering team. The role covers design, controls, product development and continuous improvement, with a salary of £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred), experience with electrical/diesel control systems and 1+ years in a design/engineering environment. Graduates with relevant hands-on exposure are welcome.
Qualifications
- Engineering or Product Design qualification preferred but not essential.
- CAD experience with SolidWorks preferred.
- Experience with electrical or diesel control systems is desirable.
- PLC, CODESYS or scripting experience would be advantageous.
- 1+ years' experience within a design/engineering environment.
- Experience with rotating machinery, steel fabrication or control systems would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Producing engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Creating work instructions and electrical schematics.
- Supporting new product development, testing and validation.
- Working on continuous improvement of existing products.
- Engineering administration, including part number creation and BOM management.
- Providing application and technical support.
- Researching, developing and testing control systems.
- Creating technical documentation, manuals and guides.
