Job summary

Dematic in the UK is seeking a seasoned Controls Cost Engineer to estimate costs for controls-related activities on our automated material handling projects. You will work with Engineering and suppliers to deliver accurate costings for parts, labour and hours, and you will perform site surveys to align sales and engineering.

The role involves reviewing software, hardware, documentation and site works such as installation and commissioning, with interactions across teams and occasional customer

Qualifications

Degree-equivalent engineering qualification required.
Experience as a Controls Engineer in automated material handling or similar industries.
Experience valuing project costs is useful but not required.
Knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens STEP 7 preferred).

Responsibilities

Plan approaches and define technical scopes to meet safety requirements.
Coordinate with Engineering and Sales; interact with customers when needed.
Provide provisional project schedules for Sales use in bids.
Conduct site visits and audits of relevant areas.
Attend Technical Reviews for projects.
Contribute to developing and maintaining departmental procedures and standards.
