Controls / Commissioning Field Service Representative

About the Role

The Controls / Commissioning Field Service Representative will provide global onsite in-field service and technical support for Siemens Energy Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) product lines, mainly supporting Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA), modifications, upgrades, and ad-hoc customer needs. The role involves ensuring professional administration of contracts and related works, working flexible hours including out-of-hours standby/call-outs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Siemens Energy AGT product lines (SGT-A20, SGT-A35, SGT-A65) controls systems commissioning and service, with cross-training in related products.
  • Provide in-field technical support for global projects, installations, commissioning, and ad-hoc requirements to minimize downtime.
  • Act as the customer interface, ensuring excellent customer service delivery.
  • Administer contract and work processes professionally daily.
  • Support commissioning of centrifugal compressors, including datum and GT packages.
  • Perform equipment commissioning, modifications, repairs, troubleshooting, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Interpret P&ID drawings and understand machine build and performance.
  • Verify OEM installation instructions, baseplate level, and alignment.
  • Understand multiple control systems, including Allen Bradley, GE, Bentley Nevada, Siemens, Woodward, ADRE, Gem80, and Detronics Fire & Gas.
  • Follow HSE requirements and promote safety culture.
  • Communicate progress, schedules, and issues with clients.
  • Prepare technical reports and safety documentation.
  • Build strong customer relationships and identify sales opportunities.
  • Provide technical support outside normal hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Understanding of rotating equipment operation in gas compression and power generation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting Siemens AGT products (SGT-A20, SGT-A35, SGT-A65).
  • Experience with systems like FT55, FT100, FT110, Wonderware is a plus.
  • Background in engineering design or relevant commissioning experience, especially with centrifugal compressors and gas turbines.
  • Educated to HNC/HND level in an engineering controls-related subject.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control panels, interpret performance data, and diagnose faults.
  • Knowledge of seal gas systems and fault finding.
  • Ability to use diagnostic software and improve machine performance.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to produce technical reports and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Initiative, flexibility, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Pass all required training and medical checks for offshore mobilization.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Degree in Engineering is desirable.
  • Industry experience and qualifications in electrical, aerospace, instrumentation & controls, or mechanical and electrical engineering.
