Job summary

Prime-Appointments is seeking a meticulous Controls and Design Engineer in Hadleigh, England. The role covers design, controls, product development and continuous improvement with a focus on drawings, BOMs and electrical schematics.

You will support new product development, testing and validation, contribute to continuous improvement of existing products and provide technical support. CAD experience, especially SolidWorks, and knowledge of PLC or control systems are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience in a design/engineering environment.
• SolidWorks CAD experience is preferred.
• Experience with electrical or diesel control systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Create work instructions and electrical schematics.
• Support new product development, testing and validation.
• Improve existing products through continuous improvement.
• Handle engineering administration including part numbers and BOM management.

Controls and Design Engineer (13240) Hadleigh, England

Salary: GBP30000 - GBP45000 per annum

We are looking for a Controls & Design Engineer to join an established engineering team. This is a varied role covering design, controls, product development and continuous improvement.

The Role:

• Producing engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Creating work instructions and electrical schematics
• Supporting new product development, testing and validation
• Working on continuous improvement of existing products
• Engineering administration, including part number creation and BOM management
• Providing application and technical support
• Researching, developing and testing control systems
• Creating technical documentation, manuals and guides

About You:

• Engineering or Product Design qualification preferred but not essential
• CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
• Experience with electrical and/or diesel control systems
• PLC, CODESYS or scripting experience would be advantageous
• 1+ years' experience within a design/engineering environment
• Experience with rotating machinery, steel fabrication or control systems would be beneficial
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
• Self-motivated, inquisitive and keen to learn
