Job Description:

Controllers – Our Impact

The mission of Controllers is to ensure that the firm meets financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. As part of the second line of defense, Controllers provides critical analysis to ensure the accuracy of financial and non-financial information, safeguards assets, and engages with regulators and auditors to protect the firm’s reputation and mitigate risks.

Professionals in this department have the opportunity to learn about Goldman Sachs’ businesses, products, and IT systems, making it ideal for those interested in developing a deep understanding of financial services. The division fosters a collaborative, team-focused culture and offers continuous training for professional growth.

Legal Entity ESG Controller – Your Impact

In response to increasing regulatory focus on sustainable finance, this role involves providing robust non-financial reporting to build stakeholder trust. You will own non-financial reporting processes, support ESG reporting implementations, and develop an understanding of subsidiaries' strategies and sustainability disclosure requirements.

We seek a motivated professional eager to contribute to high-quality reporting and analysis within a dynamic environment.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop ESG reporting processes and roadmaps
  • Produce ESG metrics and disclosures for regional and global entities
  • Engage with external consultants and reporting solutions
  • Monitor compliance with ESG regulatory obligations
  • Stay informed on relevant standards (EU Taxonomy, CSRD, UK TCFD, etc.) and industry best practices
  • Analyze ESG metrics and present findings to management

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial services, with an interest in Sustainable Finance and ESG reporting, plus strong analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with a proven track record in execution under fast-paced conditions
  • Experience in establishing or improving reporting processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-divisional collaboration
  • Inquisitive mindset with the ability to assess risks and make pragmatic recommendations
  • Preferred but not essential: knowledge of sustainability standards, experience with reporting technology, and data governance skills
