YOUR IMPACT

The Financial Reporting department consists of five teams: Operating Entities Controllers, Investment Accounting, Structured Investing Group Controllers, Goldman Sachs International Controllers, and Regulatory Financial Reporting Controllers.

As an Investment Accounting Controller, you will own the financial reporting and oversight of legal entities investing in real estate assets, loans, debt, and private equity investments. You will develop an understanding of these entities, their investments, strategies, and accounting requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Preparation, analysis, review, and presentation of financial reports under US GAAP to senior management and stakeholders.
2. Preparation and analysis of financial statements, resolving technical accounting issues, liaising with auditors.
3. Review and control of local GAAP financial reporting by external partners across Europe.
4. Preparation and explanation of P&L estimates to trading desks and coordination with Product Control.
5. Manage the onboarding of new investments, ensuring timely receipt of accurate reporting.
6. Oversee external accounting partners to ensure compliance with local obligations.
7. Take ownership and become a subject matter expert for legal entities.
8. Understand and communicate the business strategies and market developments of your entities.
9. Coordinate with multiple teams globally, including legal, compliance, tax, operations, and technology.
10. Proactively seek workflow, technology, and reporting improvements.
11. Participate in department-wide and cross-departmental projects and initiatives.

Requirements

1. Qualified accountant – ACA (up to 2 years PQE).
2. Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge, experience with audited financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS is advantageous.
3. Experience in preparing audited financial statements under US, UK GAAP, or IFRS is advantageous.
4. Proficiency in French and/or Spanish.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
