Job Description

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with regulations regarding transactions in the financial markets.

Business Unit

The Controllers group safeguards the firm's assets by maintaining financial integrity and ensuring profitable and efficient operations. They ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. The department interacts with various parts of the firm to gain comprehensive knowledge of Goldman Sachs' businesses, products, and technology systems. Support is provided to alternative investments within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, including oversight over private funds.

Controllers ensure the firm meets all financial control and reporting obligations. They verify financial data, assess valuations, and work closely with business leaders in FICC and Equities.

Your Impact

Product Controllers become experts in their business areas, assessing valuation, profit and loss, and disclosure implications. We seek an associate-level hire for the EMEA Product Control team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform profit and loss analyses regularly
  • Verify prices to ensure proper valuation of inventory
  • Assess new trades for valuation, accounting, and disclosure
  • Analyze and report the balance sheet and funding sources
  • Produce financial statements and disclosures
  • Assist in preparing external reports like earnings releases and 10Q/10K disclosures

Requirements

  • Qualified CA/CFA/CMA
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Numerate background or experience with complex financial topics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, team-oriented
