Job description

Overview

The Controller will have an in-depth knowledge of Accounting matters that are pertinent to this legal entity. This person will be a well-rounded finance professional with ability to oversee the close, assist business unit leaders in making better financial decisions, and discussing financial performance with global finance leaders. This position will serve as a strategic business partner to the corporate leadership team and operating sites and will work closely with members of the finance team and other departments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of general accounting functions including, but not limited to preparation, review, and approval of journal entries, month-end closing processes, year-end schedules and reports, and chart of accounts maintenance and control.
  • Build reports between budget and actual results.
  • Ensure overall financial data is kept in accordance with US GAAP Principles.
  • Be the point contact for the components of the global audit that relates to this legal entity.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly cadence in accordance with global close process.
  • Respond to global finance team members with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations between local accounting systems and corporate consolidation systems.
  • Ability to be nimble and ad-hoc requests of financial data for key operational and financial team members within the Company.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support efforts to improve cash collections and enhance customer payment processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve business processes that drive profitability.
  • Assist in executing strategic changes to streamline operations and support business goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College degree in accounting is required.
  • US GAAP Knowledge is required.
  • CPA would be a plus but not required.
  • Seven+ years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills required.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel are required along with superior data management and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
