Job summary

Rullion is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to head the development of SCADA and RTU-based control systems in Stone, Staffordshire. The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership across small project teams through the full lifecycle.

You will design, implement and test systems, produce design specs, and support customer acceptance while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to quality processes and security vetting requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience with SCADA configuration using at least one application such as ArchestrA System Platform or similar.
• Minimum 3 years producing Function Design Specifications, System/Detailed Design Specifications, I/O Schedules and Test Specifications.
• Experience leading small project teams and coaching junior engineers.
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle (V model) and QA/change control procedures.
• UK National Security Vetting status / BPSS required.

Responsibilities

• Lead small project teams through full lifecycle from requirements and design through to implementation, testing and customer acceptance.
• Deliver high quality SCADA and RTU-based control systems.
• Perform internal and customer factory acceptance tests.
• Provide technical review and guidance to team members.
• Support development of less experienced engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Performing Internal and Customer Factory Acceptance Tests

Technical Checking & Reviewing of Engineering produced by others.

Track record and experience of technically leading others as a project technical lead or a sub team of larger projects.

Demonstrated ability to Support the development of less experienced team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Strong understanding of the engineering project lifecycle (e.g., V model) and adherence to formal quality assurance and change control procedures.
