The Control Systems Engineer-Machine Tool Application known internally as (Manufacturing Services Systems Engineer) is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, diagnostics, and calibration of a wide range of automated and robotic welding systems, CNC machine tools, and other computer-controlled equipment.

An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Services System Engineer has arisen within the New Build and Components Business, in Nuclear (Submarines).

The role's purpose is to support the Manufacturing Services Manager in delivering organizational objectives. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, fault finding, defining maintenance technical basis, and acting as SME for automated and robotic welding systems.

What you will be doing:

Perform system tasks across automated and robotic welding systems, CNC machine tools, and other equipment. Establish and maintain archiving systems for software and machine parameters.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data supporting KPIs for the Manufacturing Services Department.
  • Provide technical assistance for machine or process failures, coordinate with OEMs and specialists, and support other units as needed.
  • Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimize maintenance strategies and define technical maintenance basis.
  • Responsible for reliability engineering, identifying, and implementing projects to increase machine reliability and availability.
