Job Summary:
We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain standards and security of the site's manufacturing computer and server systems supporting factory control via SCADA, PLC, and advanced control systems, ensuring business standards, availability, and data integrity are met.
- Drive initiatives to improve plant control systems and provide technical leadership for plant maintenance engineers.
- Manage and implement support contracts and system upgrades to maintain control system value and concurrency.
- Own and implement control system software changes through change management to meet plant and business requirements.
- Manage control system project delivery, coordinating activities across departments, suppliers, contractors, and system integrators.
- Identify and manage opportunities for improved control and production information, generating action plans and benefits.
- Support front-line teams on technical breakdowns with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Develop training needs analysis and deliver coaching on fault analysis, root cause failure analysis, and rectification for maintenance technicians and engineering teams.
- Own and manage reliable, secure control systems.
- Manage obsolescence of control hardware and software.
Key Skills:
- Fully authorized and experienced in electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Knowledge of machinery and control safety systems.
- Experience with PLC control and network systems, including programming, maintenance, and fault finding (preferably Siemens).
- Experience with HMI applications, including administration, programming, and maintenance (preferably on InTouch Wonderware).
- Basic knowledge of computer/server systems and security.
- Knowledge of industrial computer and communication network systems (Ethernet).
- Ability to deliver structured control systems training and act as a coach/mentor.
- Good presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at all levels.
- A sense of urgency and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical qualification (City and Guilds or similar).
- 5+ years of experience in an FMCG or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of reliability and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Strong knowledge of PLC, inverter, and safety systems.
