Job Description

We are seeking an Experienced Control Systems Engineer who is driven and self-motivated to join a skilled engineering team within a business at the forefront of innovative Marine Engineering. You will work on both current and future projects, taking ownership of marine control solutions from concept through to commissioning.

Control Systems Engineer - Beckhoff

£50-70k + Pension, Life Insurance, Healthcare

Location: Hampshire

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control systems for large marine systems
  • Collaborate with vessel manufacturers to provide installation guidance and vessel-specific system variants
  • Ensure compliance and safety in hazardous environments, including ATEX-rated installations
  • Utilize Beckhoff control systems with Structured Text programming
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate control systems into advanced marine technology solutions
  • Provide guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning and documentation

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience with marine or machinery-based industrial control systems
  • Understanding of marine sector complexities is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with ATEX/IEC-Ex rated installations is desirable
  • Proficiency with Beckhoff systems is preferred; training can be provided
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience managing projects through their entire lifecycle, including commissioning and documentation
