Control & Simulation Engineer, Cambridge

Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, based in Alzenau near Frankfurt, Germany, is responsible for Hyundai's global motorsport activities, primarily for its World Rally Championship program. We are seeking a Control & Simulation Engineer to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in control software and physical model development and validation for race cars.
• Develop and maintain HIL test systems, including software and calibration.
• Automate test cases on the HIL system.
• Assist in HIL application and testing of control software and hardware.
• Specify test cases based on requirements, system behavior models, and robustness analysis.
• Develop innovative solutions in model-based development for hybrid/alternative propulsion powertrains.
• Manage version control and document results and models.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in functional/physical model development, SIL/MIL/HIL testing, and application.
• Good understanding of car and powertrain control systems (ICE and hybrid).
• Strong knowledge of model-based controls using Matlab/Simulink, Engine Management Systems, and data analysis (Marelli or equivalent).
• Proficiency in debugging C code.
• Experience with HIL automatic testing using SimulinkRT or similar tools.
• Experience in motorsport is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.
• Flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
