Job description

MacRail is a market-leading company dedicated to promoting safety and welfare on worksites across the United Kingdom. As part of the Munnelly Group, a leading UK construction infrastructure support services group, MacRail focuses on implementing effective planning, supervision, and communication to improve worksite management.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Working Saturdays and Sundays from 6am to 6pm, the Control Room Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Control Room shifts. This role involves maintaining high customer service standards and quality assurance of the MacRail product through the Control Room.

The Control Room Supervisor will identify performance issues, escalate them to the Operations Manager, and supervise client sites where Control Room services are ordered. They will ensure regular contact with sites, gather information for updates, and act as the main point of contact to resolve site issues collaboratively with client managers and third parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Liaise with Managers, IT, and clients to ensure readiness for weekend work.
  • Ensure the smooth running of Control Room shifts.
  • Identify performance issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Update all active sites regularly via onsite MacRail SAC or Control Room.
  • Monitor site progress and intervene promptly if plans are falling behind or possession handback times are threatened.
  • Generate and send email reports as required by Network Rail and other clients.
  • Prepare reports as needed for clients, third parties, or management.
  • Oversee first-line IT support for SACs and Control Room staff.
  • Record all work progress, incidents, and relevant information in Worksite 360.
  • Maintain accurate records and update site information regularly.
  • Contact clients immediately in case of accidents or overruns.
  • Engage with clients and third parties to resolve site issues promptly.
  • Follow up on issues and failures.
  • Prepare handover and feedback reports for the next Control Room Supervisor and Operations Manager.
  • Participate in weekly wash-up meetings and attend quarterly supervisor meetings.
  • Foster close teamwork with SACs and Control Room staff.
