Thalia Waste Management, a leader in innovative waste-to-energy solutions, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Treatment Plant Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role supports our Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of our Mechanical Treatment (MT) plant and tipping hall, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.

• Location: Isle of Wight Waste Recovery Park
• Rate of pay: £25,000 - £26,000
• Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00
• 3 Month Secondment

Role Responsibilities

• Uphold the highest standards of health & safety, promptly addressing and reporting any concerns to maintain our commitment to a zero-incident workplace.
• Monitor SCADA & CCTV systems throughout shift to identify mechanical and operational issues.
• Action issues effectively to maintain performance targets.
• Operate the tipping hall crane to ensure that bunker stocks are managed effectively.
• Maintain diligent records and logs to support accurate reporting and decision-making.

The Person

• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Prior experience with SCADA control programmes
• Ability to work as part of a wider operational team.
• Positive attitude and driven to continually improve processes.
• Proactive approach toward managing daily tasks.

In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly, we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
