Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland seeks an experienced security professional for our Operations Control Room in Ipswich. You will coordinate incident responses, act as the central point of contact, and keep clients informed with timely updates on site activity and responses.

Join a technology-driven, professional team and support continuous service delivery across shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Right to Work in the UK and BS7858 vetting are required.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and be able to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage responses to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.

• Record incidents and shift activity accurately in control room systems.
• Provide timely updates and reports to clients on site activities and responses.
• Monitor operations and ensure compliance with procedures and standards.

About The Role:

Are you an experienced security professional looking to step away from frontline guarding and into a dynamic operational role? Join our professional Operations Control Room team and become the central hub of a fast-paced security operation, coordinating responses, supporting clients, and helping to keep people, property, and services protected around the clock.

Days of Working: This position will be based at our Operations Control Room in Ipswich, working 4 on 4 off shift pattern across either Days or Nights

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and manage responses to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
  

• Act as the central point of contact for all operational and security-related matters during your shift.
  

• Maintain regular communication with mobile response officers, site teams, and clients.
  

• Record incidents, operational activity, and shift updates accurately within control room systems.
  

• Provide timely updates and reports to clients regarding site activities and incident responses.
  

• Monitor operations and ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and industry standards.
  

• Support the efficient running of the control room to maintain the highest levels of service delivery.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
  

• Strong communication and organisational skills.
  

• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

• Good IT skills and confidence using computer-based systems.
  

• Ability to accurately record information and maintain detailed records.
  

• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable:

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Previous experience within a control room, operations, customer service, contact centre, dispatch, monitoring or security environment.
• Experience coordinating people, resources or incident responses.
• Experience using security, monitoring, scheduling or workforce management software.
