Job summary

Heysham Port Ltd is seeking an Operations Specialist for the Control Room/MHO role at the Grain Terminal. You will operate conveying networks and vessel discharge processes, making real-time decisions to keep stock movements flowing and terminals efficient.

Joining this safety-critical position means working with customers and teams, handling on-site plant operations, and participating in pre-placement medical assessments where required. Full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial/operational environment.
• High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Solid understanding of automated plant systems and bulk material handling.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Grain Terminal's conveying network and vessel discharge processes using SCADA and Commtrac systems.
• Make real-time operational decisions and monitor stock movements to ensure efficient terminal operations.
• Support vessel discharge operations and general terminal activities as required.
• Work closely with customers, agents and operational teams to maintain safe operations.
