Job summary

apetito is seeking a Control Room Manager for our Portbury Distribution Centre. You will oversee the automated warehouse environment, ensuring uptime, accuracy and safe operations across project and operational phases.

The role requires hands-on SAP EWM experience, data-driven decision making, and strong collaboration with Operations, Engineering and IT. Strong communication, problem solving under pressure and driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of automated warehouse systems and material flow.
• Experience with SAP EWM and system integration environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, BI dashboards).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Due to the location, a driving licence and access to your own transport are essential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project planning and provide operational input for system design.
• Work with SAP EWM and automation vendors to validate integration.
• Support FAT, SAT and UAT testing cycles.
• Help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the control room.
• Provide feedback on system performance during commissioning and handover.
• Monitor material flow and system performance using dashboards.
• Act as first-line support for operational teams and resolve issues quickly.
• Maintain incident logs and escalate unresolved items to Engineering or IT.
• Collaborate with Engineering and IT to diagnose faults and implement safe workarounds.
• Produce accurate reports for DMS and SIC processes and drive improvements.
