Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Control Panel Technician to join our client's rapidly growing automation team. This role is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting industrial control panels for high-efficiency automated equipment. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in electrical panel assembly and a strong understanding of industrial systems and schematics.

Position Responsibilities
Panel Assembly & Wiring
  • Assemble complete low-voltage control panel boxes
  • Install components such as relays, circuit breakers, HMIs, plugs, switches, solenoids, DIN rails, terminal blocks, grounding points, and wireways
  • Read and follow electrical schematics and technical drawings to ensure high-quality builds
  • Perform wiring and interconnections, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor starters
Troubleshooting & Testing
  • Troubleshoot faults in control panels, circuitry, and pneumatic systems
  • Conduct functionality and continuity tests on electrical assemblies
  • Calibrate and validate systems following strict documentation
  • Use meters and tools to measure voltage, current, and I/O accuracy
  • Diagnose and repair system components including pumps, fans, and instrumentation
Technical Support & Documentation
  • Mark up drawings and schematics during assembly (redlining)
  • Interpret specs and support documents: BOMs, design calcs, validation protocols, etc.
  • Maintain high safety standards and adhere to all PPE and workplace safety requirements
Prerequisites
  • Associate degree or trade school certification in an electrical discipline
  • 1–5 years of experience building, maintaining, or servicing control panels and electrical systems
  • Proficient with 480V, 120V, and 24V circuits
  • Hands-on electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Able to read wiring and piping schematics
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Comfortable working independently or with a team
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
  • Forklift or lift certification
  • Calibration or electrical safety training
  • LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) familiarity
