Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Managing planned and fault operations on the Northeast and Yorkshire HV and EHV network.
  • Pursuing safety and customer service excellence.
  • Working as part of a team of technical and qualified engineers on a shift rota, with decision-making responsibilities in demanding situations.
  • Effective communication and liaison with field staff, customer services, and external stakeholders in both planned and reactive situations.
  • Producing and communicating clear reports to management, other business units, and stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing new solutions as part of a high-performing team dedicated to customer service.
  • Making confident decisions and managing system risks and escalations as necessary.
  • Maintaining excellent technical knowledge of HV and EHV networks and safety rules.
  • Problem-solving to address the challenges of rapid change, innovation, and exciting projects.
  • Delivering quality outputs within deadlines.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business and industry.
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in network operations and planning processes.
  • Understanding of Distribution Safety Rules and Operational Practice Manual requirements.
  • HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of LV, HV, and EHV networks and protection systems.
