Controls and Automation Engineer

Salary: £50K - £60K

Location: Cambridge

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Controls/Automation Engineer to join a forward-thinking and fast-growing engineering firm at the forefront of automated robotics technology. The company specialises in a wide range of automation solutions.

This role offers the chance to be directly involved in the development and commissioning of high-performance automation systems used across diverse industrial environments. Youll work both on-site and in-house, contributing to projects that span the UK. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional service and tailored automated robotics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation software, primarily using PLCs
• Integrate software and hardware components for custom automation solutions
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to engineers and clients
• Support continuous improvement of systems and internal commissioning processes
  
  

Skills & Experience Required

• PLC programming Experience (Beckhoff, Siemens)
• Experience with IEC-61131-3 languages (Structured Text desired)
• Good experience with robot programming (KUKA or similar platforms)
• Experience commissioning automated machinery
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
• C++ or C# are beneficial but not essential
