Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey is seeking a Contractual Advisor to provide contractual advice and guidance to its construction teams. The role involves reviewing main contracts, negotiating amendments, and supporting contract administration on high-value UK and Ireland projects.

The ideal candidate will have a law or construction-related degree and knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts, with 1–4 years of relevant experience and a desire to develop expertise in construction law.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in law or construction-related field such as QS, Civil Engineering, Project Management.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and JCT suite of contracts.
• Desirable: construction law qualification (ICE LCMC or similar).

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating main contract amendments.
• Generating subcontract documents.
• Assisting the project team in negotiating subcontract terms and conditions.
• Delivering advice on how main contract/subcontract operates.
• Providing ad hoc support on contractual matters.
• Preparing and delivering training seminars on standard forms and amended contract terms.
