Role:

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Officer to provide an effective level of support to our Commercial function in the day to day operation of programmes and bids. The key purpose of the role is to help safeguard the commercial interests of the business and maximise profitability within acceptable risk levels. Responsible for ensuring all business activities comply with applicable UK regulations and Corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of routine and more complex commercial quotations and proposals including pricing to meet customer requirements
  • Management of project cost models
  • Management of commercial risks to meet project commitments
  • Assist in the analysis and drafting of contract requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable law and corporate policies
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations with clients to ensure project objectives are met
  • Effective management of Contracts and Agreements to maximize profitability, minimise exposure to risk, and ensure timely achievement of project objectives.
  • Preparation and administration of Contract changes and positively contribute to resulting negotiations
  • Assessment and response to Request For Quotations ensuring risk mitigation and value for money is achieved and suits the customer’s needs
  • Ensuring contract order cover is received and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Liaison with the project team to ensure that information is released in a timely manner to the customers
  • Provide guidance to project teams and other junior members of the Contracts team
  • Maintain and contribute to internal Corporate reporting requirements
  • Coordination of Commercial communication to and from internal and external customers
  • Build effective commercial customer relationships and be the commercial focal point for allocated projects
  • Support in the development and administration of commercial processes and procedures within the business

Knowledge, Skills And Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience in a commercial role
  • Evaluation of commercial risks
  • Ability to work on own initiative with little or no supervision
  • Prioritise own workload and organise own time to achieve objectives
  • Seek to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Contribute as an effective team member
  • Ability to work with and deal with individuals at all levels of business both internally and externally
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • High standard of IT literacy including MS Office; particularly Excel
