A local council is seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join their Legal team in making contract law advice, drafting, and negotiations. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with expertise in contracts and procurement matters. Key responsibilities include reviewing contract standing orders and supporting the Council's procurement officer. This role offers the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively within a dedicated team.
Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
We are seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement lawyer to work within our dedicated Legal team advising, drafting, negotiating and completing legal documents relating to contract law to include grant agreements, funding and management agreements, facility agreements, terms and conditions of business, amendments to standard JCT contracts, contractual arrangements for the delivery of major projects/services, and contract/procurement work. You will also be responsible for reviewing the Council’s contract standing orders and provision of legal support for the Council’s procurement officer as lead practitioner for contracts and procurement.
You will be qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with experience in providing advice in respect of a wide range of contracts and procurement matters. You’ll be a confident and organised individual, with the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and to work with colleagues within the Legal team and across the Council. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team as well as have good attention to detail.
