Job description

Location Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary £41,361.

What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing and drafting commercial bids and proposals
  • Supporting contract negotiations with key internal/external customers
  • Contracting administration and the preparation of data to support Senior Management Reviews
  • Understanding Customer requirements
  • Maintaining awareness of Governance processes and best commercial and governance practice
  • Interpreting contract requirements (including but not limited to terms and conditions)
  • Supporting contract closure. The Air Commercial Team is a vital part of the Commercial Function, ensuring that BAE Systems’ proposals and contracts are developed, approved, and delivered to the highest standards. Based at our Warton and Samlesbury sites, the team works closely with customers and internal stakeholders to negotiate and manage agreements that provide a robust commercial framework, minimising risk while maximising shareholder value.

This is a dynamic and challenging environment, offering exposure to both UK and international operations, and the chance to gain insight into how contracts underpin the success of world‑class aerospace projects.

Qualifications
  • Currently operating within or has relevant commercial/operational/business experience
  • IT Literate with a good knowledge of Word, Excel and other MS Office packages
  • Analytical experience or knowledge
Desirable
  • Ideally educated to a relevant degree standard e.g. Law, Business, Engineering
  • Experience or ability to prepare and draft bids and proposals
  • Experience of negotiations with key customers and is able to understand customer requirements
