The Role

Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager include financial monitoring and control of contracts, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, and achieving the company's procedures and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Planning

  • Ensure projects are planned and programmed with sufficient detail for timely delivery by the site team.
  • Manage procurement and reconciliation of materials according to company procedures to ensure value and prevent delays.
  • Ensure site team compliance with commercial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in tender handover meetings and deliver pre-start meetings to the site team.
  • Develop and monitor a commercial plan and end-of-life forecast monthly for successful project delivery.
  • Produce and analyze progress reports, updated costs, and forecasts.
  • Engage subcontractors correctly from a commercial perspective.
  • Implement risk management processes, review risk registers, and check risk controls.
  • Review CVRs monthly with project teams and take necessary actions.
  • Complete and distribute Contract Initiation/Completion forms for each project.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of progress, budget, resources, and forward planning, and establish look-ahead programs.
  • Chair and document internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
  • Manage timely design submissions to meet project requirements.

Health, Safety, and Environmental

  • Promote high standards of HS&E leadership, ensure compliance with procedures and legal obligations.
  • Assign HS&E responsibilities and provide necessary training for site personnel.
  • Oversee and update HSE documents, conduct senior site inspections, and liaise with relevant parties for audits and reports.
  • Coordinate with third parties to ensure compliance with standards like HAUC, NRSWA, and Chapter 8.

Quality

  • Ensure the production of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Maintain and produce the QA File.
  • Establish and promote best practices.

Customer Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and external customers.
  • Lead meetings with customers and provide progress reports.
  • Minimize community impact during works.

Key Measures and Targets

  • Meet all deadlines and business objectives.
  • Complete final accounts within three months post-construction.
  • Adhere to reporting timescales weekly and monthly.
  • Achieve KPIs, including project delivery within time, budget, and safety standards.

As a Contract Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of water mains replacement projects, ensuring successful delivery from design through handover, managing project teams, budgets, contracts, and schedules.

You will provide leadership and guidance, working closely with civil, MEICA, and commercial teams to meet project requirements in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

The Infrastructure Contracts Manager will lead and manage the Infra team, supporting project outcomes, adding value, and ensuring project and client satisfaction. Your duties will support project success, business growth, and client relationships.
