Job description

Contracts Manager - Hard/Soft Landscaping Civils/Grounds Maintenance

Our client is one of the UK'S largest and award-winning landscaping and civil engineering specialists.

Location: London and South East

Position: Contracts Manager Full-time Permanent

Days of work: Mon-Fri (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Salary: £50k-£65K (depending on experience)

Due to continuous growth, they are seeking a Contracts Manager with previous experience and success in managing and delivering multi-disciplinary commercial landscape projects, on time, to specification and producing the budgeted margin. Contracts in London and South East, ranging from £100k up to £5 million.

The Role:

  1. Completion of contracts
  2. Ensuring gross margins are maintained on contracts
  3. Produce and monitor accurate cost control
  4. Management of sub-contractors and direct labour
  5. Supervision of Labourers (in the region of 20, number can vary depending on contract)
  6. Procurement and management of resources (plant, equipment and materials)
  7. Delivering contracts in line with our Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
  8. Carrying out Safety, Quality and Environmental audits
  9. Production and ongoing development of Construction Phase Plans
  10. Production/ Review of RAMS
  11. Production and management of programmes of work
  12. Maintaining site records
  13. Effective client/ project team communication and relationship building
  14. Proactive approach to contract delivery, highlighting any potential problems and proposing solutions
  15. Production and presentation of monthly progress reports
  16. Production and submission of monthly valuations
  17. Recording of AIs, pricing of variations/ account management
  18. Compilation and recording RFIs and RVIs
  19. Project reviews at the end of each project

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Proven track record within the construction/landscaping industry, be commercially minded and adept at managing site managers and subcontractors
  2. Full UK Driver's License
  3. Project Management qualification (Preferred)
  4. SMSTS (Preferred)
