Job Title: Contracts Manager - Heritage & Conservation

Location: Peterborough based, covering site in East Anglia / East Midlands

Salary: Up to GBP70,000 + car allowance + health + pension + bonus


Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking for your next challenge in the Heritage, Restoration, and Conservation sector?

Join a leading contractor who deliver prestigious projects including Grade II listed buildings and historic structures, with values up to GBP4m.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contracts Manager in the heritage sector, your role will include:

  1. Overseeing multiple heritage and conservation projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  2. Managing site teams and subcontractors to ensure delivery is on time, within scope and budget.
  3. Liaising with clients, consultants, and heritage officers to maintain clear and effective communication throughout each project.
  4. Ensuring works comply with conservation regulations and safety standards.
  5. Supporting commercial and procurement teams, including contract negotiations and programme planning.
  6. Leading progress meetings, providing clear updates, and resolving issues as they arise.
Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, you ll need:

  1. A strong background in Contracts Management, ideally within the restoration or specialist heritage sectors.
  2. 5+ years experience ideally with a main contractor or specialist heritage contractor.
  3. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  4. Solid knowledge of conservation standards, construction methods, and health & safety regulations.
  5. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  6. A professional, proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
