Job summary

Fusion People are seeking a Contracts Manager for Ground Investigations in Glasgow. This permanent role oversees delivery of ground investigation projects from planning through to completion, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget adherence and high technical standards.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Geology, with experience managing contracts, projects or operations in ground investigations, strong client engagement, and SMSTS certification. Travel occasional is required.

• Commercial awareness with project finances and performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of ground investigation projects from planning through to completion.

• Manage contract performance, including cost control and forecasting.
• Coach and support the team; coordinate resources and client relations.
• Promote HSEQ culture and support regional office operations.
• Contribute to business development and network expansion.

Contracts Manager - RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee delivery of small to large ground investigation projects from planning through to completion
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high technical standards
• Manage contract performance, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability
• Provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, and support to your team

• Coordinate resources and support project planning and problem resolution
• Review project outputs and ensure compliance with industry and company standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and technical specialists
• Promote a strong Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) culture
• Support efficient operation of the regional office and facilities
• Contribute to business development, identify new opportunities, and expand professional networks

Contracts Manager - REQUIREMENTS

• Degree qualified in Geology or a related discipline
• Experience managing contracts, projects, or operations within the ground investigation industry
• Commercially minded with experience managing project finances and operational performance
• Confident communicator capable of engaging with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders.
• Skilled in balancing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• SMSTS certified.
• Flexible to travel occasionally as required.
