Job Description:

Amazon Music is looking for a talented Contracts Manager to join our legal team to help support our growing music, podcast, and audiobook business. We're seeking someone who can identify and implement contracting and legal process improvements, enjoys working directly with business clients, and loves learning new subject matters and issues.

The successful candidate will work efficiently and collaboratively with business clients, team members, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel; handle a high volume of tasks and projects independently; prioritize effectively; take action with incomplete information; and think creatively to solve problems. Attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contractual relationships, such as music licenses and service agreements, collaborating with business clients across music industry, business affairs, marketing, and tech teams.
  • Ensuring legal compliance of marketing copy and assets, and advising on consumer protection law aspects.
  • Scaling legal support by identifying and implementing contract and legal process automation and simplification, utilizing automated systems and AI tools.

About the team:

The role supports an international team with experienced lawyers in the UK and EU, closely integrated with colleagues in the US. Some international travel is expected.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in contracts management, leading negotiations, and reviewing/drafting contracts in a legal or related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to innovate, simplify, and improve legal and contracting processes.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-house contracts management experience.
  • Music or media industry experience.
  • Proficiency in other European languages, especially Spanish, Italian, French, or German.
