Job description

Our client is a family-owned, well-established business specializing in:

  • Housing
  • Build
  • Development and retrofit

An exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager has arisen within their social housing sector.

The scope of works includes kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, re-wires, window and door replacements, EWI works, external works, and social housing decarbonisation schemes. Previous experience in this type of work is essential.

Role and responsibilities

  • Managing operational site teams
  • Implementing health & safety procedures to industry-leading standards
  • Managing delivery in accordance with regulations, contract documentation, and standards
  • Maintaining and reporting on project programmes
  • Participating in initiatives to improve working practices
  • Adhering to company policies and promoting company values
  • Attending pre-start meetings and liaising with internal teams
  • Managing project resources, including labour, materials, plant, fleet, subcontractors, and supply chain
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor valuations with the Quantity Surveyor
  • Managing relationships with clients, design teams, and consultants
  • Organizing and chairing contract close-out meetings

To be considered

  • Proven track record in contract management
  • Experience managing multiple social housing projects from start to finish
  • Knowledge of construction standards, legislation, and quality delivery
  • Strong planning, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid SMSTS qualification
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • Asbestos Awareness (desirable but not essential)
