The CompanyThe building contractor handles projects of varied nature, including Healthcare, education, local authority, commercial, private residential, sports and leisure, embassy, and religious buildings. They have an excellent reputation, focusing on construction projects ranging from 200k - 5m, including refurbishment, new build, and Cut and Carve.
The CandidateWe are looking for a candidate with proven longevity and experience as a Contracts Manager across varied sectors, specifically on projects up to 5m value. The candidate will be responsible for 2-3 smaller projects valued at 2-3m.
The ProjectThe contractor predominantly covers Healthcare/Education projects in Kent & London, focusing on standard NHS fitouts of wards. Experience as a Contracts Manager within the Healthcare sector is essential, along with great attention to detail in managing M&E packages in a high-paced, fully operational live environment.
Responsibilities- Attendance and preparation of pre-tender and tender interviews.
- Overall responsibility for up to 2 sites.
- Preparation of tender submissions in collaboration with the estimating team.
- Production of tender programmes using Microsoft Projects or Asta.
- Understanding of JCT Dnb Contracts.
- Implementation of company procedures on site.
- Implementation of Health and Safety procedures.
- Progress reporting and production of board reports.
- Coordination of design teams and contractor design packages.
Suitable candidates should demonstrate recent work history as a Contracts Manager with a reputable main contractor, along with good all-round building experience on projects from 1m - 10m. Time spent with previous employers is important, as is design & build experience.
