Job summary

Westwood Recruitment seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee Civils & Highways projects from pre-construction through completion. Office based in Rochdale with hybrid flexibility provides leadership of site teams, subcontractors, clients and commercial performance.

The role offers immediate start, salary from £75,000 per year (negotiable) plus a £5,000 car allowance and a path to deliver safe, on-time, on-budget projects across a busy civil portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within Civils/Groundworks/Highways.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding.
• Experience managing multiple projects and site teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and client management skills.
• Good knowledge of H&S, contractual requirements and project delivery.
• Highly organised, proactive and commercially aware.
• IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and Project or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Civils and Groundworks projects from start to finish.
• Lead and support Site Managers and project teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to budget and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Monitor project programmes, costs, performance and contractual obligations.
• Conduct regular site visits and ensure compliance with H&S and company procedures.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Support pre-construction, tendering and project planning activities.
• Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners effectively.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.
