Job Summary

We are looking for a new Contracts Manager employee to be based either in Kendal or Blackburn UK.

Summary

Reporting to the Deal Desk Manager and being part of the Deal Desk Team this role will be responsible for driving and supporting all aspects of contract formation from pre-award through to agreement and contract execution. Thereafter you will act as commercial lead during the project delivery phase. During contract formation you will collaborate with Sales Legal Counsel Finance and Group teams for Risk Treasury and Compliance. During the project delivery phase you will work closely with and provide commercial advisory to Project Managers and others supporting the delivery of the project.

What a typical day looks like
  • Manage and negotiate draft contract T&Cs through to contract execution
  • Manage contract risk by eliminating or mitigating onerous T&Cs
  • Do final validation of commercials including price and payment terms
  • Manage post-execution contractual matters obligations entitlements claims procedures warranties etc.
  • Act as commercial lead for negotiated settlements
  • Act in advisory capacity to explain contract T&Cs to internal teams
  • Collaborate with specialist Group functions including Tax Treasury Insurances and Corporate Accounting
  • Support the Deal Desk Manager in the management of Strategic Deals and other tasks
The experience we are looking to add to our team
  • Minimum 3 years experience in processing commercial contracts including drafting review and redlining
  • People management experience is highly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen and business sense & focus on managing commercial risk
  • Good negotiation skills both commercial and legal
  • Ability to build close working relationships with internal colleagues clients and other external parties and also to work against tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of complex billing methods and procedures including applications basis and milestone billing
  • Familiarity with critical power products data centre sector or similar industrial sectors
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
