Overview

Contracts Manager – £70k-£90k with Comprehensive Package – September Start – General Build - Education / Healthcare / Industrial / Commercial / Residential – Ipswich / Cambridge. SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid.

The Company

The company is a medium sized Main Contractor that takes on general build projects, from new build steel frame warehouses to new build Schools, Residential, and Commercial Units. The company has doubled in size in the last 12 months due to successful tendering and has a healthy pipeline of work for 2026.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Contracts Manager with a proven track record across varied sectors. The role spans Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial and Residential projects, with project values from £1m to £10m. The right candidate will manage 3-5 projects at any one time, overseeing contractual matters with Senior Site Managers / Project Managers reporting in, ensuring the programme is met on time.

The project includes new builds, refurbishments and extensions on Educational Projects, new build small residential developments, new build industrial sheds, and refits of fully operational live hospital wards, and more.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Director with autonomy for all on-site activities.
• Oversee the programme and ensure timely delivery across multiple sites.
• Coordinate with clients and project teams; manage contractual matters and progress reporting to senior leadership.

Skills / Experience

• Planning and organisational skills; able to programme works and oversee operations of multiple sites.
• High level of practical knowledge of employment, health and safety and general legislative requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in managing on-site sub-contractors and overall project governance from conception to completion.
• Proven longevity with previous employers and a track record of delivering projects from start to finish.

Requirements

• Must have SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
