Tremendous opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing team. Based out of Cardiff, you will initially be responsible for projects in Bournemouth, Bristol, and Liverpool, so travel and remote management will be required.
As the successful applicant, you will manage and support the day-to-day activities of the construction/design team, ensuring the programme plan is achieved within agreed timescales, safety standards, and client specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Offer experience and support during pre-tender/bid stages, seek opportunities, and identify risks.
- Plan and arrange project meetings, organise the site team daily to meet programme requirements, including review meetings.
- Manage works throughout pre-construction service agreements.
- Plan weekly/monthly activities, including site team meetings.
- Ensure project filing is correctly set up and maintained, including contract control files.
- Coordinate activities of subcontractors/trades to ensure efficient work, conducting weekly progress and H&S review meetings.
- Monitor work quality and address issues with colleagues and suppliers.
- Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental legislation and company procedures.
- Ensure all programmes, plans, method statements, and risk assessments are up-to-date and adhered to.
- Work with QS to monitor financial status, identify solutions, and organise activities to deliver projects.
- Identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement, celebrating successes.
- Liaise with the Operations Director regarding project concerns early on.
- Attend weekly senior team meetings to report on project progress and issues.
- Coordinate with other operational/construction managers on site staffing and resource planning.
- Ensure weekly contract monitoring and control files are reviewed, signed off, and kept up-to-date.
