Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing retrofit, construction, or energy efficiency projects.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification required.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification required.
  • CSCS Managers category required.
  • Knowledge of Temporary Works Procedures essential.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing retrofit contracts from inception to completion.
  • Preparing programmes of work and managing operational delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, and employment policies.
  • Conducting site inspections to monitor health and safety, quality, and productivity.

Skills

You will like

The Contracts Manager/Projects Manager role, where you will ensure the effective delivery of retrofit solutions in line with client commitments to external funders, including energy projects such as wall and loft insulation, window and door replacements, ventilation, draughtproofing, low/no carbon heating, lighting, and energy installations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing retrofit contracts from inception to completion, ensuring projects meet client requirements, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Preparing programmes of work and managing operational delivery within agreed budgets, objectives, and targets.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, and employment policies and legislation.
  • Understanding contract and company obligations to ensure requirements are met.
  • Developing excellent relationships with client representatives, residents, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with regulations such as Electrical, Gas, Building Regulations, ECO, PAS2030/2035, and other funding sources.
  • Addressing client enquiries, issues, and requests promptly.
  • Managing engineers and sub-contractors effectively, providing support on technical issues and performance management.
  • Facilitating team meetings on performance, operational delivery, H&S, company updates, and training.
  • Conducting site inspections to monitor health and safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs, and drawings.
  • Developing relationships with the commercial team.

You will have

To succeed as a Contracts Manager/Projects Manager, you should have 5+ years of experience in managing retrofit, construction, or energy efficiency projects, along with the following:

  • Strong knowledge of retrofit standards (PAS2030/2035, ECO), building regulations, and energy-saving technologies.
  • Experience from apprenticeship to site management.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • CSCS Managers category.
  • Knowledge of Temporary Works Procedures.
  • Understanding of site administration methods and practices.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to identify contract variations.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, technology, and materials.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Power Project.
  • HSE-recognized First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Full UK driving license.

Salary of GBP50K+ with car allowance, bonus, and benefits:
