Job summary

Our Client, a leading infrastructure contractor, seeks a Contracts Manager to lead delivery of highways and civil engineering schemes in the Bristol and Gloucester regions, overseeing multi-project portfolios valued from £1m to £15m.

You will work with Pre-Construction and Planning teams, drive business growth through frameworks and tenders, and mentor Project Managers while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Contracts Manager position.
• Strong background in highways, infrastructure or civil engineering project delivery.
• Experience managing multiple projects and operational delivery teams.
• Proven experience working within framework agreements and competitive tender environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financial performance.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Identify opportunities for business growth within existing frameworks and new markets.
• Drive continuous improvement and share lessons learned across projects.

Contracts Manager | Bristol & Gloucester Region | Highways & Civil Engineering

Our Client is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the South West Civils team and play a key role in delivering and growing the highways and civil engineering portfolio across the Bristol and Gloucester regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Contracts Manager with a strong background in highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects who enjoys leading teams, managing multiple projects and driving business growth through frameworks and tender opportunities.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will oversee the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering and highways schemes ranging from £1m to £15m in value. Working closely with Pre-Construction, Planning and Operational teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced Contracts Managers who have a successful track record delivering highways, infrastructure or major civil engineering schemes.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Contracts Manager position.
• Strong background in highways, infrastructure or civil engineering project delivery.
• Experience managing multiple projects and operational delivery teams.
• Proven experience working within framework agreements and competitive tender environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financial performance.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• SMSTS certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the South West region.

Desirable

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience working on local authority highways frameworks.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models.
